In 2006, when Jump Dance Company began as an afterschool program of 50 students at a small private school, we never imagined that JUMP Dance Company would grow to what it is today. Through the hard work, hours of time, and enduring efforts of our family, staff, students, parents, and friends, the studio has enjoyed incredible success over these past eleven years. For those of you who have stuck with us throughout the changes and growing pains that led to today’s incredible performance, we are forever grateful.

How we got from there to here…

                After our first year as a successful afterschool program, JUMP opened to the public with a new studio and dance supply store and grew to 120 students. Then, during our second year, an issue with resigning our lease led us to Lakewood Ranch and the beautiful main building that is our home today. As we began our third year in Fall 2008 at our new Lakewood Ranch location, our enrollment grew to over 300 students.

                Over the next few years, as our studio and students grew, we continued to expand our recreational classes, company and competitive programs. We found success in all genres of dance, including tap, hip hop, contemporary, jazz, ballet and more. We added new teams to include students as young as 5 years old, created an elite team program, and developed our musical theater program into a thriving company of young performers. As we attained higher and higher levels of success in the studio, in our performances, and in the competitive arena, our enrollment continued to grow. We grew so much, in fact, that we added additional studio space to include our Annex location.

                We feel that the success of our studio is due, in part, to our ever changing and evolving programs. Each year, we carefully evaluate the needs of our current students, as well as what we see as the needs of potential students, and mold our programs around those students. This year was no exception and, as a result, we enjoyed a wonderful dance year filled with amazing successes and memorable moments. We are proud to have over 500 amazing young dancers and singers who shared this past year with us.  

                Also a part of the growing JUMP family since 2008, is JUMPStart Preschool of the Arts. Our preschool, which found quick success by achieving a perfect score on the VPK Kindergarten Readiness Test in only their second year, has achieved a perfect score once again this year, as our students continue to thrive in our creative learning environment. Our innovative preschool program offers an art-infused educational experience to children ages 2-5.

                As each year comes to a close, we find ourselves reminiscing about the many incredible years we’ve been able to share with so many wonderful students. To all of them, as well as parents, instructors and friends, we would like to say a heartfelt THANK YOU! As we look to the future, we hope to continue to provide the finest dance education and to share our passion for the performing arts with you and your families for many more years to come!
